Requirements
  • Must be independently licensed in any state as a Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Clinician, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • Psychologists must have PsyPact in addition to a state license.
  • Must have a master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited program, or a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program.
  • Must have at least 2 years of independent therapy practice experience.
  • Must have experience consulting on mental health diagnoses and treatment plans for professionals across disciplines, particularly for psychiatrically and medically complex patients.
  • Must be familiar with the full range of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition clinical presentations and brief, evidence-based psychological interventions for mild, moderate, and severe presentations.
  • Must have knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment, Substance Use Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Serious Mental Illness.
  • Must have assessment and intervention skills and experience with evidence-based treatment.
  • Must be able to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Must have knowledge of risk assessment and mental health crisis procedures and skill in leading interdisciplinary treatment teams during patient mental health crises.
  • Must have experience with one or more Electronic Health Records.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Must be a United States citizen and reside in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Provides individual and group interventions for patients coping with health psychology presentations, psychosocial stressors, grief, phase-of-life difficulties, and mild-to-severe mental health presentations.
  • Provides cognitive screenings to address functional and cognitive ability questions.
  • Provides clinical assessment, collaborative care, and treatment for patients experiencing mental health symptoms or behavioral health issues.
  • Completes psychosocial assessments to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their families.
  • Uses knowledge of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, treatment procedures, acute, chronic, and traumatic illnesses, medications and their effects, side effects, and medical terminology in clinical practice.
  • Follows suicide prevention guidelines and risk-assessment documentation and training requirements.
  • Documents relevant areas of functioning to determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment-related conclusions.
  • Provides Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders diagnoses to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their families.
  • Provides emergency and crisis interventions, conducts rapid assessments, and develops crisis-management plans.
  • Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy when clinically indicated and therapeutically beneficial.
  • Maintains knowledge of veterans' benefits, services, and community resources and makes appropriate referrals to community and governmental programs or agencies.
  • Provides case-management services to patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.
  • Adheres to client regulations for documentation and completion of encounters.
