Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is required, preferably in customer service or collections.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet use, and email, are required.
  • A professional phone presence and strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills are required.
  • The ability to handle stressful conversations with tact and diplomacy to achieve desired results is required.
  • Strong typing skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Two evening shifts per week are required: 12 p.m.–9 p.m. Central Time and 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Central Time, plus one Saturday shift every five weeks.
  • The employee must report to work promptly and regularly, follow direction, work effectively with others, meet deadlines under stress, concentrate, perform accurately, and adapt productively to change.
Responsibilities
  • Perform outbound calls on past-due customer accounts to resolve delinquency.
  • Recognize and research delinquent or potentially delinquent accounts, determine the best resolution action, and assume responsibility for attempting account resolutions.
  • Process payments over the phone, including credit card transactions, using company resources to achieve one-call resolutions.
  • Provide hardship relief options to customers in accordance with company policies and practices.
  • Relay information to customers about interest, statements, and other account questions.
  • Assist with overflow calls involving disputes, recovery, first-pay, and bankruptcy matters.
  • Complete in-office and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Recognize unusual scenarios and information and inquire further using critical-thinking and active-listening skills.
  • Document notes properly in all required areas according to company processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
