Requirements
  • Hold a current, valid Washington State license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-Certified.
  • Hold a current Washington State Prescriptive Authority License.
  • For Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, hold current National Certification Corporation certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
  • For Physician Assistants, hold national board certification from the American Nurses Association or National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
  • Hold current Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
  • Hold a Master’s degree from an accredited program.
  • Have three or more years of experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Maintain active Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive neonatal care under the direct supervision of the attending neonatologist.
  • Function independently within the scope of practice.
  • Ensure continuity of care for neonatal patients and families.
  • Bill for services rendered, as appropriate to the role.
  • Support and educate residents.
  • Train and onboard new Advanced Practice Providers in neonatal care.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership.
  • Promote the professional development of Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Support recruitment and retention initiatives for Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers.
