Requirements
  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern frontend development (Vue.js is a strong plus).
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Strong SQL fundamentals; experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, or similar cloud data platforms is a plus.
  • Experience working with integrations, automation, or data pipelines.
  • Curiosity about biology, chemistry, biotechnology, or life sciences. A science degree isn't required—we value the willingness to learn.
  • Ability to collaborate with scientists and translate complex workflows into practical engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with scientists to understand workflows, identify bottlenecks, and turn complex problems into elegant software solutions.
  • Design and build internal applications for experiment requests, inventory management, scientific data capture, reporting, and visualization.
  • Develop integrations across scientific platforms including Benchling, CDD Vault, laboratory instruments, and internal systems.
  • Build reliable, production-grade data pipelines that automate manual processes and improve data quality.
  • Develop and maintain scalable REST APIs and backend services using Python.
  • Build modern frontend experiences using Vue.js and TypeScript.
  • Contribute to Databricks-based data platforms, Prefect workflows, and cloud-native engineering solutions on Azure.
  • Collaborate with engineers across the US and India on architecture, design reviews, testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted software development.

Enveda Biosciences uses machine learning, metabolomics, and robotics to explore the largely untapped natural world for drug discovery. Its main asset is a proprietary high-throughput platform that runs many experiments to generate a comprehensive dataset of small molecules, including their chemical structures, biological activity, and how they distribute in organs. This data helps identify potential drug leads quickly and supports partnerships with healthcare and pharmaceutical companies through collaborations and licensing of discoveries. Unlike many rivals, Enveda focuses on expanding knowledge of natural product chemistry beyond the small portion already known, aiming to accelerate the pace of drug discovery by systematically exploring natural chemical space and building a pipeline for its partners.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • March 2026 Phase 1b ENV-294 data was positive in moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis.
  • FDA cleared ENV-308 in 2026; Enveda dosed its first obesity-trial patient.
  • Headcount reached 420 in March 2026, and hiring stayed active.

What critics are saying

  • ENV-294 still needs Phase 2b proof, and atopic dermatitis crowds AbbVie and Sanofi.
  • Obesity and IBD programs face fast followers from Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer.
  • One clinical failure can crush Enveda's valuation because every platform claim depends on trials.

What makes Enveda unique

  • Enveda's AI platform mines life's chemistry, not synthetic libraries, for first-in-class molecules.
  • By March 2026, Enveda advanced 10 development candidates into a clinical pipeline.
  • Microsoft collaboration and Phlow chemistry partnership widen its data and manufacturing moat.
