The Job:
As a Human Resource Generalist, you’ll be part of our Stanley Engineered Fastening team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to:
- Knowledgeable in all areas of Human Resources, employment, employee policies and procedures, employee records, leave of absences, benefits, compensation, worker’s comp, payroll, and employee relations.
- Provide back-up support for site payroll.
- Facilitates all aspects of internal and external recruitment and selection processes for hourly positions. Posts all positions on the applicant tracking system, coordinates interview schedules and candidate travel arrangements, track applicant flow, and coordinates administration of various pre-placement screening processes. Completes all new hire documents and data input.
- Back-up support and/or coordinates, updates and delivers the new hire orientation program.
- Processes employee status changes such as promotions, salary adjustments, new hires and terminations. Tracks and prepares reports on employee status changes for the month, quarter and year.
- Assists with the preparation and completion of the annual Affirmative Action Plan.
- Advises Managers, Supervisors and leads of policies and procedures, various state and federal regulations, salary-related issues and effective human resources practices in regard to employee issues.
- Investigates charges of alleged discrimination based on race, sex, age, religion, national origin, and physical/mental disabilities.
- Handles employee relations and provides feedback to employees and the leadership team.
- Initiates and coordinates various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale/engagement.
- Human Resources team collaborates between Chesterfield and Troy SEF sites, as needed.
- Active on plant floor communicating with makers.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager of Human Resources.
The Person:

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 4 years of HR Generalist experience
- Strong knowledge of Michigan employment laws.
- HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
- HR experience at a large global corporation that includes partnering with an HR Shared Services function.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel.
- Experience with Workday and ADP. Kronos highly preferred; Managing payroll required.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
