Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in business or healthcare related field of study
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in medical billing collections
  • Basic knowledge of CPT/HCPCS. ICD-10, modifier selection, and UB revenue codes
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations, and health care nomenclature and systems
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, problem solving and team player skills
  • Ability to navigate across multiple customer demands and balance competing priorities successfully
  • Ability to solve problems using critical thinking skills
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Analytical skills required
  • Ability to think critically and identify the impact across the revenue cycle with a solution oriented approach
  • Ability to develop, implement and produce analysis and reports
Responsibilities
  • Assists with developing appropriate workflows and tracking for all patient billing initiatives and activities
  • Establishes ongoing working and collaborative relationships with other departments, outside vendors and call centers that directly impact revenue cycle performance
  • Works closely with the vendor operations teams to oversee operations activity that directly impacts the revenue cycle to drive performance related to patient billing, and provide direction and oversight of processes impacting patient billing and cash collections
  • Tracks outcomes of patient payments and manages patient billing escalations
  • Develops, manages and monitors successful completion and implementation of project plans and procedures
  • Sincerely enjoys working with others to ensure the overall success of the revenue cycle team
  • Continues to seek new and creative technologies or implement procedures that help identify and guide improvement opportunities
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job
  • Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with medical billing systems (SalesForce, AMD, Epic or MES) is a plus
