Requirements
  • At least 4-6 years of relevant consulting or industry experience in energy-related sectors, with hands-on experience in asset-intensive or operational environments and the ability to work across multiple segments of the energy value chain.
  • Depth in energy and commodities, including oil, gas or liquefied natural gas, and power; metals or agricultural commodities are a plus.
  • Experience shaping and leading change involving operating models, risk frameworks, or commercial strategy.
  • A strong quantitative foundation in derivatives and risk measurement, without requiring a pure quantitative background.
  • Existing United States work authorization.
  • A strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in formal and informal settings.
  • The ability to take initiative and seek opportunities to learn and apply new skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to develop novel solutions to complex client problems.
  • An aptitude for analytical work, including identifying insights in large datasets and isolating key issues in complex challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identify the key aspects of a problem, and direct junior consultants toward those elements.
  • Plan and execute analyses effectively and identify core issues in complex analyses to craft suitable recommendations.
  • Work side by side with clients and project team members to move projects forward.
  • Manage small teams to complete project work.
  • Provide unique subject-matter insight to clients and colleagues.
  • Advise leadership teams on energy-related strategy, transformation, trading, and risk topics.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with how artificial intelligence and machine learning are applied in trading and risk.
  • Experience with metals or agricultural commodities.
  • Houston location, or willingness for candidates based in New York City or Chicago to travel to or relocate to Houston.
