- Current Clinical Laboratory Technician Florida license is required.
- Coordinate and perform complex technical laboratory procedures, ensuring accurate execution and interpretation of test results to support clinical diagnosis and treatment, and document findings for laboratory management and healthcare providers.
- Conduct specimen collection, including venipuncture and skin puncture, while following patient identification, specimen labeling, and collection verification protocols.
- Guide proper collection and preservation techniques for urine, sputum, stool, and other specimen types.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment through setup, cleaning, preventive maintenance, and sterility testing in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Follow laboratory safety policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, and infection control protocols.
- Oversee preparation, quality assurance, and handling of quality control materials, reagents, chemicals, and solutions used for laboratory testing.
- Analyze laboratory data and prepare reports assessing accuracy, completeness, and timeliness while identifying trends or anomalies and providing recommendations.
- Contribute to the development, validation, and implementation of new laboratory procedures and testing methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to students, interns, residents, and laboratory staff; organize educational rotations and competency assessments.
- Support clinical evaluation initiatives and participate in hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, and scheduling.
- Monitor and enforce Quality Control, Quality Assurance, safety standards, and inspection protocols.
- Manage inventory levels of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Assess workflow and staffing needs, reallocate resources to maintain efficiency and meet workload demands, and follow up on task completion.
- Oversee staff competency testing, facilitate ongoing education, and ensure adherence to policy and procedural updates.
- Use laboratory information systems and related software to manage patient data, test orders, and results reporting.
- Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare personnel to obtain information, clarify procedures, and provide status updates.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers regarding laboratory results.
- Coordinate laboratory inspection processes and liaise with regulatory inspectors to address findings.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, verify specimen quality, interpret complex test results, and provide consultative support.
- Assist leadership with special projects and initiatives supporting laboratory operations and continuous improvement.
- Provide guest service to internal team members and patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Fort Myers-based Millennium Physician Group has acquired Orlando's IMA Medical Group, expanding its reach in central Florida. IMA, with 53 providers and 17 clinics, serves over 22,000 Medicare Advantage members. The acquisition aims to enhance value-based care without changing IMA's practice names or care models. Financial terms were not disclosed. Guggenheim Securities advised IMA, and Foley & Lardner LLP provided legal counsel to Millennium.
Together, the Fort Myers-based Millennium Physician Group and Orlando-headquartered IMA Medical Group include more than 950 health care providers.
