Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience in business analytics, customer analytics, product analytics, strategy, business intelligence, finance analytics, or a similarly analytical and business-oriented role.
  • Advanced SQL skills and the ability to independently explore and analyze large, complex datasets.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to connect analytical findings to customer behavior, business economics, and strategic implications.
  • The ability to structure ambiguous business questions analytically, identify appropriate data and methodology, and develop clear recommendations or points of view.
  • Strong analytical storytelling skills and the ability to distill complex analyses into the most important insights.
  • Experience analyzing customer or user behavior, including acquisition, engagement, retention, conversion, segmentation, cohorts, or lifetime value.
  • The ability to move between detailed analyses and broad strategic questions.
  • Experience partnering directly with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders and using analytics to influence business decisions.
  • Strong proficiency with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau or similar platforms, and Excel or Google Sheets.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, business, computer science, engineering, or another quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • The ability to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze customer, deal, merchant, product, financial, and external market data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities important to company performance and long-term strategy.
  • Evaluate acquisition, engagement, retention, conversion, customer value, merchant performance, and deal economics to understand changes in customer and marketplace behavior.
  • Build data-driven assessments of new products, markets, customer segments, revenue streams, and strategic initiatives, translating ambiguous questions into analytical frameworks and recommendations.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to understand new products and features, validate datasets and metrics against real-world product behavior, and identify data quality or tracking issues.
  • Surface anomalies, develop hypotheses, and independently pursue analyses that can improve business decisions.
  • Use AI and other emerging tools to accelerate deep analysis, dashboard development, and the path from questions to action.
  • Distill complex analyses into concise insights, recommendations, dashboards, and presentations for cross-functional leaders, senior executives, and the Board.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a consumer internet, e-commerce, marketplace, digital media, affiliate marketing, or advertising business.
  • Prior experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or another environment emphasizing rigorous analytical problem solving and executive communication.
  • Experience analyzing merchant, marketplace, advertising, or transaction-level economics.
  • Experience combining internal data with external market, competitive, consumer, or industry data to explain business performance and identify emerging trends.
  • Familiarity with experimentation, A/B testing, and causal analysis, including interpreting results and translating them into business decisions.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to accelerate analytical workflows, including investigation, deep-dive analysis, dashboard development, automation, data visualization, and communicating insights.
  • Interest in emerging analytical tools and a track record of using technology to reduce the time from question to analysis to insight to action.
  • Experience with Python or another analytical programming language; Python is helpful but the role is not focused on data science or machine learning.
  • Familiarity with modern data infrastructure and tools such as Databricks, dbt, Spark, or similar technologies.
