Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in office operations, facilities, hospitality, property management, or a related role is preferred.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple requests, follow through, and communicate status clearly is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word, is required.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality, with the ability to work independently in a smaller or satellite-office environment, is required.
  • The ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the office is required.
  • The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40–50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation is required.

Responsibilities
  • Open and close the office as scheduled, complete daily walk-throughs, and address basic issues to keep reception, conference rooms, pantry, copy areas, and other shared spaces clean, organized, and functional.
  • Maintain office, kitchen, and restroom supplies; place and track orders; receive deliveries; organize storage areas; and restock refreshments and consumables.
  • Maintain on-site stock of common information technology peripherals and conference room equipment according to the standard list; submit requests and coordinate orders with Information Technology; and track usage and restock supplies as needed.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages, prepare outgoing shipments, coordinate courier pick-ups, and maintain shipping logs as needed.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for on-site facilities needs, triage and resolve common requests such as furniture moves, minor repairs, and basic troubleshooting, and escalate appropriately.
  • Coordinate on-site service visits for cleaning, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, security, pest control, coffee and water, shredding, and related services; escort vendors as needed; confirm completion; and report issues to the Facilities Manager.
  • Support badging and access processes as directed, help maintain emergency supplies, participate in emergency preparedness activities such as evacuation routes and drills, and report hazards promptly.
  • Set up conference rooms for meetings, including seating, basic audio/visual equipment, and whiteboards; coordinate catering and clean-up; and support small office events and visiting teams.
  • Manage day-to-day hoteling and desk booking for the office using the Robin application, including maintaining desk and room resources, supporting reservations, posting local booking guidelines, and partnering with Facilities and Information Technology to troubleshoot access or setup issues.
  • Track recurring space conflicts and share utilization and improvement suggestions with the Director of Facilities Operations.
  • Track requests and work orders, document recurring issues, and maintain simple inventories and vendor or service contact lists.
  • Support workspace moves, hoteling setups, and minor reconfigurations, including assembling light furniture and coordinating larger moves with approved vendors.
  • Follow purchasing guidelines and approvals, submit receipts and invoices with supporting details according to company policy, and assist with basic reconciliation or coding as requested.
  • Perform additional tasks in support of office operations as assigned.
  • Occasionally use a step stool or ladder for light tasks such as changing batteries and stocking supplies, consistent with safety practices.
  • Work primarily on-site in the satellite office, with a schedule that may align with office operating hours.
  • Travel occasionally to the main office or other company locations for training or special projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree or additional training in facilities or operations is a plus.
  • Three to five years of experience in office operations, facilities, hospitality, property management, or a related role is preferred.
  • Experience with desk or room reservation and hoteling tools, such as Robin, and maintaining space resources is a plus.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for common office equipment, including printers, copiers, and conference room audio/visual equipment, are preferred.

New York launches $150M Housing Central New York Fund to build 2,500 homes

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has launched the Housing Central New York Fund, a $150 million public-private initiative to accelerate housing production in response to Micron's $100 billion regional investment. Empire State Development is contributing $30 million, with Micron, local financial institutions and other partners providing $120 million. The revolving loan fund aims to develop at least 2,500 workforce housing units over seven years across six counties: Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga and Oswego. A 2023 study found the region needs 30,000 additional housing units, requiring triple the current annual production rate. Community Preservation Corporation will manage the fund, providing subordinate financing for mixed-income, multifamily housing. Projects must meet affordability requirements, including 10% of rental units affordable to households earning at or below 80% of Area Median Income.
