Requirements
  • A minimum Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree in Pharmacy is required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state license and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
  • Stand and walk throughout the majority of the shift.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment and/or random drug screening test.
  • Be a certified immunizer.
  • Travel between stores to provide coverage within an assigned area as scheduled.
  • Maintain strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Have basic keyboarding skills.
Responsibilities
  • Float to assigned stores within the area to help cover Pharmacy Departments.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department.
  • Assist in the training and development of subordinate staff, estimate personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, and interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies.
  • Follow the Kinney Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions and counsel patients.
  • Perform all quality assurance steps to ensure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed and report dispensing incidents in a timely manner in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Follow all state and federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Oversee the initial submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims.
  • Manage and balance pharmacy inventory to provide maximum turns while keeping products in stock for customer needs.
  • Oversee the transmitting, processing, and receiving of orders to and from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers as needed.
  • Oversee pharmacy inventory checks for outdates and process all returns.
  • Ensure prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure in-store pharmacy technology is used to its fullest potential to maximize return on investment and technology lifespan.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times.
  • Ensure all Loss Prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations to Loss Prevention.
  • Assist in implementing corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising, and promotional programs.
  • Oversee maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with doctors and other health service professionals.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in Pharmacy and Health Care Services that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient information.
  • Facilitate communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operate the pharmacy within those guidelines.
  • Assist in training and developing all pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program.
  • Interface with auditors and outside agencies as needed.
  • Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
