Responsibilities
  • Review, underwrite, and make decisions on loan requests within stated lending authority, involving the next higher authority when deal size or complexity warrants.
  • Maintain credit quality standards for the assigned portfolio in accordance with corporate policies and the bank's credit culture.
  • Respond promptly to credit requests to determine feasibility and the nature of analysis required.
  • Coach, mentor, and train underwriters and assigned deal teams and provide guidelines.
  • Support assigned deal teams in structuring and delivering credit products to meet client needs.
  • Work with commercial bankers and underwriters to manage analysis and documentation and produce focused, concise underwriting packages from initial request through final documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with credit policy and appropriate reporting.
  • Maintain a strong credit culture and an effective, efficient approval process.
  • Balance asset-quality objectives with the business-development plan.
  • Act as a visible customer contact and member of the vertical management team within the relationship-banking model.
  • Underwrite and manage the portfolio in accordance with regional and corporate risk profiles.
  • Identify critical issues and propose alternative structures and financing solutions.
  • Meet with clients or prospects to clear approval conditions or unresolved issues, support new-business due diligence, sell to clients, and address deteriorating situations.
  • Use credit judgment and assess the size and scope of the assigned credit portfolio to determine credit-risk exposure for relationships.
  • Discuss changes with commercial bankers to resolve conflicts between client needs and the bank's structure.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Credit Officer to establish and execute monthly and quarterly reporting of vertical portfolio metrics focused on credit-risk management.
  • Help model, project, and track actual versus potential charge-offs, non-performing loans, criticized and classified assets, and overall credit quality of the assigned vertical.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to relationship managers evaluating and structuring or restructuring commercial credits.
  • Ensure satisfaction of compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in reviews of criticized and classified assets and in quarterly Criticized Asset meetings.
  • Participate in the Senior Loan Committee.
  • Prepare presentations and participate in management or committee meetings as needed.
  • Solicit new business opportunities with vertical management and participate in community or other service activities.
  • Maintain working relationships with bank employees, work independently, and contribute to department and organizational success.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

S&T Bancorp reports Q2 2026 net income of $36.6M, up 8.5% from Q1

S&T Bancorp reported net income of $36.6 million for the second quarter of 2026, up from $35.1 million in the previous quarter and $31.9 million in the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share reached $1.02, an increase of 8.5% quarter-on-quarter and 22.9% year-on-year. The Indiana-based bank holding company achieved a return on average assets of 1.49% and return on average equity of 10.37%. Net interest margin expanded 7 basis points to 3.99% compared to the first quarter. Total portfolio loans grew $99 million, whilst customer deposits remained stable following strong first-quarter growth. Nonperforming assets decreased to $40.2 million, or 0.50% of total loans. The company repurchased 1,074,924 shares at an average price of $44.24, totalling $47.6 million.

S&T Bank opens new Pittsburgh branch and expands office at One North Shore Center

S&T Bank has announced plans to open a new full-service branch and expanded Pittsburgh office at One North Shore Center, 12 Federal Street. The $9.9 billion bank will occupy approximately 28,000 square feet, replacing its previous location at 358 North Shore Drive, which lacked a branch and offered limited office space. In partnership with Pittsburgh-based property firm Elmhurst, the location is being renovated into a Class A office featuring modern amenities including technology-enabled conference rooms, wellness features and flexible workspaces. The expanded facility will provide increased access to in-person banking services and additional space for employees. S&T Bank will maintain its corporate headquarters in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The company, which trades on NASDAQ under symbol STBA, was established in 1902 and operates across Pennsylvania and Ohio.

S&T Bancorp reports Q4 2025 net income of $34M with ROA of 1.37% and NIM expansion to 3.99%

S&T Bancorp reported fourth quarter 2025 net income of $34.0 million, or $0.89 per diluted share, compared to $35.0 million, or $0.91 per share, in the third quarter. Full year net income was $134.2 million, or $3.49 per diluted share, up from $131.3 million, or $3.41 per share, in 2024. The Pennsylvania-based bank holding company saw net interest income grow $1.8 million in the fourth quarter, whilst net interest margin expanded 6 basis points to 3.99%. Total portfolio loans increased $91.0 million, or 4.52% annualised, compared to September 2025. However, net charge-offs rose to $11.0 million from $2.4 million in the previous quarter, primarily due to nonperforming asset resolutions. The company's board authorised a new $100 million share repurchase programme, effective 26 January 2026.
