Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting, specifically in OPIR systems
  • Proven track record of leading complex systems engineering projects and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with government standards and frameworks such as Department of Defense, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Interface Control Document requirements
  • Secret Security clearance is mandatory
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all technical aspects of the OPIR framework system design, development, integration, testing, and deployment
  • Architect and design systems: Define the end-to-end data processing architecture, from raw data ingestion to product delivery, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
  • Establish standards: Set technical standards and processes for data handling, quality, and integrity to ensure all system development complies with mission and regulatory requirements
  • Technical oversight: Support engineering review boards and provide technical direction to ensure the integrity of deliverables and the overall system
  • Communicate with stakeholders: Act as the primary technical interface between the engineering team, program management, senior leadership, and external customers. Present complex technical concepts and project status clearly
  • Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies, and technical problem resolution
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering innovation and high-quality deliverables
  • Ensure all system components meet operational, reliability, security, and performance requirements
  • Serve as the principal technical liaison between the program and government program offices
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Domain experience with remote sensor systems or ground architectures, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing
  • Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fields
  • Experience with Agile software development methods
  • Familiarity with the Earned Value Management System
  • Active TS/SCI Security clearance
