We’ve built an efficient, high growth organization by vertically integrating distribution, balance sheet risk, and claims adjusting. We’re three years old, profitable, and intent on building the best insurance provider in storage.
As we expand our coverage offerings, we are looking for a Senior Vice President of Commercial Insurance to lead and scale our insurance operations. This role is based in our downtown Austin, Texas office and will drive the growth of SafeLease’s property and liability insurance products.
What You’ll Do
- Execute the strategic vision for SafeLease’s commercial insurance products.
- Drive profitable growth by managing coverage structure, underwriting, reinsurance, and claims operations.
- Identify and assess new market opportunities, including partnerships, distribution channels, and emerging trends in the commercial insurance space.
- Collaborate with the executive team to define product strategies, pricing models, and risk management frameworks that support growth and maintain operational excellence.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to ensure the achievement of key performance goals.
- Drive compliance and regulatory adherence, ensuring that all insurance products meet industry standards and legal requirements.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to gather insights and feedback that inform continuous improvement.
About You
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial insurance, with a proven track record in product development, distribution, underwriting, and operations leadership. E&S experience is preferred.
- Extensive experience leading teams in scaling insurance products and driving revenue growth in fast-paced environments.
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance requirements, with the ability to navigate complex legal landscapes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies that align with business objectives and capture market opportunities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on building high-performance teams and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Experience in distribution, claims, risk management, and financial modeling within the commercial insurance industry.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, evolving business environment.
