The Ballpark Operation department is made up of the Security, Maintenance, Grounds, Ops Team and Guest Services event staff groups. All of these groups are an essential part of the event day experience. About the Role:
The San Francisco Giants are looking for a Ballpark Operations Intern for the 2023 baseball season, to provide a unique opportunity for individuals looking to understand the inner workings of a ballpark pre, during, and after baseball games and events. You’ll experience the collaboration that takes place between the Ballpark Operations department managers, a variety of internal Giants departments, and the event staff on different projects and initiatives that directly tie into the successful execution of different venue events. You will be expected to assist with daily operations and a variety of tasks and responsibilities in conjunction with game-day preparations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to be collaborative, creative and proactive, as well as a strong ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and diplomacy. This role reports to VP Guest Services, and Systems Manager. This position will be located in our beautiful ballpark headquarters at 24 Willie Mays Plaza in San Francisco.

- Develop a full understanding of Oracle Park layout and ballpark policies
- Assist with the creation and distribution of ballpark credentials and badges
- Support with inventory control and distribution of equipment used by the event staff
- Enter incident reports into the Incident Tracking System (24/7 Software)
- Assist with the training and implementation for incident reporting
- Provide support to Event Dispatch Center
- Participate in game day departmental exploration with the 5 groups encompassing Ballpark Operations
- Assist with written and verbal correspondence with guests regarding Lost and Found items from games and events.
- Assist department with various administrative duties and projects including filing, correspondence, updating spreadsheets, break room product inventory and special projects as needed
- Assist with customer inquiries in the Guest Services Office during baseball games and events.
- Produce an internship project (determined jointly by intern and supervisor)

Qualifications:
- Current student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program or recently graduated in the past 12 months
- Previous event/venue operations experience a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient Knowledge of MS Office (with emphasis in Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Must be collaborative, creative and proactive
- Must be able to handle sensitive information with discretion and diplomacy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment.
- Must be available 30-40 hours/week, with general alignment to the baseball game schedule including nights and weekends
