The Netflix Design team is searching for a Sr Product Designer for our XD Streaming team. This role would focus on the innovation, experimentation, communication and results of our discovery initiatives to further iterate on our experiences with anticipation and launching of new titles. The person we are looking for should possess deep knowledge, and be known for:
•Expert in Merchandising: raising awareness of a product, increasing demand generation, hype and anticipation.
•Leading discovery projects while creating a quality member experience that moves our core metrics.
• Create new experiences that challenge known metrics and push our understanding of member experience.
• Leveraging best discovery, merchandising and search design practices.
• Work within known delivery systems or develop new ones.
• Working with a wide set of partners - PM, Eng, Algo, DSE and having a strong influence.

The XD Streaming team creates personalized entertainment experiences the world can’t live without, building excitement and anticipation to connect people with stories they’ll love. Our mission is to entertain the world - bringing joy, escape and a sense of connection to millions of people. The team is focused on designing the end-to-end Member experience from the moment after someone joins Netflix. The team designs across consumer journeys from onboarding and discovery through to curation, playback and post-play. The team is responsible for Discovery, Identity, Merchandising and Anticipation for Netflix members across the entertainment ecosystem. The team designs on TV, Mobile, Tablet, Web and emerging technologies. The team explores new product experiences and design frameworks at the intersection of User Experience and Machine Learning to make Netflix a better fit for each and every one of our members around the world so they can easily discover and choose the best content for them when it matters most.
What is Product Designer at Netflix?
The role of a Product Designer on our team may be a bit different from other companies, as we expect our individual contributor leaders to own a product domain with multiple initiatives working closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Consumer Insights. Our Designers are measured by how well they identify business needs through domain expertise and business context as well as consistently producing and/or facilitating deliverables that elevate the quality of work for their team and others. You will be focused on the Member Experience team and be an integral partner in the project’s development.
Expect your time to be split: 50% on the strategic (vision, prototypes, conceptual) and 25% on the tactical (variations, specs, experimentation) and 25% on communication( feedback, bridge, setting context). You should be known for your design thinking and consumer science. You are expected to consider the implications of sometimes ambiguous variables to inform strategic decisions.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The overall market range for this role is typically
