Requirements
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee in the State of Arizona
  • 6+ month of pharmacy experience as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Ability to frequently move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across the pharmacy for various needs
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be willing to work with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the length of working with these drugs
  • Medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or PAPR
  • Reproductive risk awareness for handling hazardous drugs (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects)
Responsibilities
  • Manage pharmacy inventory.
  • Prepare, fill, and label orders and dispensed medications under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist (pull prepackaged medication or obtain stock containers).
  • Prepackage oral, and external medications using various packaging and labeling equipment.
  • Pick up/receives physician orders and review for completeness; determine availability of drug formularies; obtain patient information on prescriptions and maintain the Pharmacy Patient Medication Profiles.
  • Interpret physician’s directions and types prescription labels.
  • Order medication and pharmaceutical supplies under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
  • Receive and verify delivered orders; restock medication shelves and supply bins; rotate and remove outdated drugs; maintain a clean working environment including Pharmacy equipment and work counters; maintain stock records.
