Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree in STEM.
  • Experience with Computer Science, Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Firmware Engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Analyzing engineering software and/or firmware in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, and other relevant standards.
  • Working with software development teams to review and analyze embedded software code.
  • Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through deployment to gain concurrence with software builds.
  • Completing software and/or firmware hazard analyses.
  • Participating in the execution of the Software System Safety Program.
  • Interfacing with various stakeholders, including customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Assisting with the preparation of Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for customer approval.
  • Assisting with software safety technical reviews.
  • Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
  • Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a comprehensive understanding of product architecture and design.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel
  • Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
