As an Engineering Intern here at Sift, you will have an opportunity to work on meaningful products that will help everyone trust the internet. Engineering Interns have made major contributions to many of our flagship components; including our machine learning models and pipelines, our distributed systems and infrastructure, and our APIs, workflows, and beautiful Web Console.

Specifically, as an Engineering intern, you will: 

• Collaborate alongside with top engineers in the industry, while taking complete ownership of your project which has meaningful impact to Sift
• Write software that will be used in production, and leave the code in a better state
• Give and receive technical feedback through design discussions and code reviews
• Ask great questions and communicate your work and ideas clearly with your mentor and teammates

We set the bar high for our interns, and expect that many of the below apply to you:

• Pursuing a B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field with 2 years of major-related course work completed
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, machine learning, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or web applications. 
• Basic skills in software engineering, with strong desire to learn more. 
• Excited to learn and take on large-scale engineering challenges. 
• Great communication & collaboration skills, and a belief that team output is more important than individual output.
• You are a self-starter, with a quick learning curve.
• Prior internship experience in the tech industry is a plus. 

You don’t need to have all these skills – everyone is different and each Sift intern brings something unique to the table.
