Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Maintenance Technician at a multifamily community with 100 or more units.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive resident relationships and collaborate with team members.
  • Customer service, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Experience and knowledge of plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and appliance repairs, including stoves, refrigerators, washers, and dryers.
  • Ability to supply personal hand tools and safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Represent Investment Property Group in a positive and professional manner.
  • Complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects or problems and making repairs according to established policies, procedures, safety standards, and code requirements.
  • Access and obtain materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other items from the maintenance department; track inventory used, return unused items, and notify the maintenance supervisor of reordering needs.
  • Perform general community and facilities maintenance under minimal supervision while meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Promote positive and proactive resident relations through fair and consistent treatment during resident interactions.
  • Assist with daily inspections and upkeep of the property and common areas to identify maintenance problems requiring attention.
  • Follow the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Perform maintenance tasks that support occupancy goals and a quality living experience for residents.
  • Serve as a resource for management and assist in developing and communicating more efficient apartment-community maintenance methods.
  • Participate in the after-hours and emergency coverage rotation schedule.
Desired Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of and experience with plumbing and electrical repairs.
