- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- One to five years of customer service and insurance experience is required.
- Dental experience is required.
- Knowledge of dental software and Microsoft Office programs is required, along with the ability to learn new programs as needed.
- Maintain quality control when handling financial information, performing insurance verification, and preparing end-of-day reports.
- Perform clerical tasks including sorting, opening, distributing mail, scanning, and photocopying.
- Answer phone calls and provide information to callers.
- Greet visitors and patients.
- Schedule, verify, and confirm patient appointments.
- Explain procedures and services to patients using dental knowledge.
- Present financial policies and arrangements to patients.
- Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage as appropriate.
- Track appointments affected by no-shows, cancellations, and late arrivals.
- An Associate’s degree is preferred.
