Teaching Assistant

*Monday – Friday, 8.45am – 3.15pm (30 mins lunch).

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant to join our mixed Reception / Year 1 class.

You will:

• support the delivery of the EYFS and year 1 curriculum within the classroom and outdoor learning spaces

• assist in planning and preparing engaging learning activities tailored to early years pupils

• provide a safe and supportive environment for children to explore and learn

• help to assess children’s progress and report back to teachers and parents

• encourage children’s social and emotional development through play and interaction

• work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure that the needs of all children are met effectively

• administer paediatric first aid when necessary (training provided)

• assist with lunch time supervision either in the hall or on the playground.

Ideally you will have: 

• recent, practical, school-based experience within an EYFS and/or Year 1 classroom

• experience of planning and delivering phonics (we use Little Wandle)

• high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour

• a positive attitude to every day

• a NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants would be desirable (or the equivalent experience).
