Requirements
- The position requires additional training in imaging in the surgical suite related to specific surgeries, sterile field protection, and promoting radiation safety to the patient and surgical staff.
- Individuals in this position must work under limited supervision and exercise independent judgment and initiative.
- Individuals must communicate and work effectively in the medical environment with patients, fellow workers, physicians, and others.
- Individuals serve neonate, infant, child, adult, and geriatric patient populations and are regularly exposed to ionizing radiation.
- Individuals must work irregular hours and accept overtime or on-call assignments when needed.
- The work requires prolonged standing, bending, and lifting.
- The applicant must be registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- The applicant must hold a valid Ohio license as a Radiographer.
- The applicant must hold current Basic Life Support certification.
- The applicant must be able to use a wide range of radiographic equipment, including mobile units and portable C-arm machines.
- The applicant must be willing to learn new procedures and operate new equipment.
- The applicant must deal tactfully and professionally with physicians, patients, and coworkers.
- The applicant must tolerate substantial standing, bending, and lifting.
- The applicant must work quickly and accurately.
Responsibilities
- The Radiologic Technologist II performs a wide variety of radiographic examinations using fixed and portable equipment, including C-arms used in surgery.
- The employee performs other assigned duties and assists in other areas during low-volume periods.
