The Data Platforms Team
Okta’s Customer Identity Cloud (CIC), powered by Auth0 technology, is an easy-to-implement authentication and authorization platform designed by developers for developers. We make access to applications safe, secure, and seamless for over 100 million daily logins worldwide. Our modern approach to identity enables this Tier 0 global service to deliver convenience, privacy, and security so customers can focus on innovation.
The Data Platform team we are forming will create a streaming data platform to build and operate data pipelines and scalable data infrastructure to support event/messaging streaming, catalog, analytics, and machine learning use cases.
The Software Engineering Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role will work on distributed systems, availability, and delivering customer value. In this high-impact role, you will work with engineers throughout the organization to build foundational event-driven streaming data services that allow the Customer Identity Cloud (CIC) to scale for years to come. Because we develop and support infrastructure used by services throughout, the ideal candidate is someone excited about collaborating to solve problems that affect the entire ecosystem of CIC services.
What you’ll be doing
- 2+ years of software development experience in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Experience building and operating highly scalable distributed systems
- Familiarity with modern programming languages such as python, go, JavaScript
- Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker
- Experience with caching systems and databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra
- Experience with reliability engineering on areas such as observability and incident management
What you’ll bring to the role
- Experience building data-intensive applications using technologies such as Kafka, Hive, Spark, Hadoop, CDC
- Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code technologies like Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform
- Knowledge of distributed database systems and data warehouses such as Snowflake and RedShift
- Familiarity with or interest in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) business domain
