Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, plumbing, and preventive maintenance is required.
  • Knowledge of building and mechanical trades, occupational hazards, safety precautions, furniture and fixture repairs, safety and security measures, and maintenance guidelines is required.
  • Ability to use and care for hand and power tools and equipment is required.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and general maintenance on property grounds is required.
  • Ability to perform standing, lifting, bending, stretching, reaching, climbing ladders, crawling, kneeling, and low-to-ground work for extended periods is required.
  • Ability to push or pull 100 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 60 pounds unassisted is required.
  • Ability to stand for eight hours and work outdoors in heat or cold is required.
  • Ability to speak and read English is required.
  • Ability to work any day or shift, including nights and weekends, is required.
  • Ability to pass appropriate security clearances is required.
  • Ability to maintain guest privacy and communicate professionally with guests and coworkers is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chief Engineer or Lead Maintenance Technician in maintaining hotel operations and quality standards.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel and on property grounds.
  • Maintain the facility according to consistent preventive-maintenance guidelines.
  • Ensure all maintenance equipment is in working order.
  • Complete assigned preventive-maintenance, repair, and documentation tasks.
  • Report or immediately correct hazardous conditions.
  • Assist with houseman duties when assigned.
  • Assist with guest issues while providing courteous and professional service.
  • Perform other duties within the role's physical capabilities as assigned.
