• Reporting into the INDG Deputy General Counsel, the Contracts and Operations Specialist, Public Sector is an integral part of the Legal Department. The Contracts and Operations specialist will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by partnering with Public Sector Sales to support all aspects government contracting from RFP responses and negotiations to contract management and invoicing. The Contracts and Operations specialist will negotiate contracts for INDG’s products and services, including but not limited to our flagship Bloomberg Government, Bloomberg Law and Bloomberg Tax products, and will work closely with and in some cases direct or train internal stakeholders (including Sales, Commercial Operations, Product Development, Compliance, and Legal). We’ll rely on you to build internal partnerships and balance the needs of internal and external customers in a time-sensitive environment.
What you will do:
·Serve as Legal’s primary liaison with sales, commercial operations, billing and collections for all INDG businesses selling to government customers
·Train applicable stakeholders within sales and commercial operations
·Work in partnership with commercial counsel to review and negotiate legal terms and conditions for BLAW, BGOV and BTAX government customers
·Improve and execute processes based on best practices for negotiation requests, RFP reviews, and customer onboarding
·Validate compliance with customer requirements prior to all submission of government proposals
·Support applicable reporting, including but not limited to CPARS and FEDLINK
·Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
You need to have:
·Must be an independent thinker with a positive can-do attitude
·Excellent customer service skills required to effectively balance the needs of the internal and external client in a time sensitive environment without exposing Bloomberg Industry Group to undue risk
·Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and proactively in a fast paced, open environment
·Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
·Minimum 3 years of experience supporting multiple aspects of contract lifecycle
·Substantial experience in a client- or supplier-facing role with a strong negotiation background
·Experience working on government contracts, and familiarity with FAR and DFAR is preferred, but not required
