Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in a related field such as HVAC or mechanical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience performing HVAC technician duties or working in a related technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including variable refrigerant flow/variable refrigerant volume systems, chillers, boilers, and air handling units.
  • Ability to diagnose HVAC problems and recommend appropriate solutions using strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of relevant external compliance requirements and quality management practices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time and balance competing priorities.
  • Effective data management skills and attention to detail for data reporting, verification, and analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to provide support beyond normal Monday–Friday hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Current valid driver's license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office, with reimbursement.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject matter expert and technical support resource for a wide variety of HVAC systems and brands, including answering questions, troubleshooting, repairing, guiding maintenance activities, and providing training.
  • Promote safety, health, and environmental practices and ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Facilitate system, equipment, and application training for client account teams, departments, and new BGIS accounts.
  • Provide regular updates on escalation trends and compile and analyze key performance indicator data for client account teams and monthly internal executive reporting.
  • Complete data changes in assigned systems, including asset management and maintenance tracking systems.
  • Upload documents, forms, and submissions to the internal portal for client account-team monitoring and review.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of compliance-related data submitted by client business groups and product lines.
  • Improve operational efficiency through best practices and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Participate in corporate program and project discussions, including releases of new system applications.
  • Contribute to developing, documenting, and reviewing policies, processes, training materials, and work instructions for internal and external users.
  • Research and provide wiring schematic support for BGIS technicians.
  • Assist with controller configurations for HVAC brands serviced by BGIS.
  • Monitor, understand, and support computer and diagnostic-tool requirements for variable refrigerant flow/variable refrigerant volume systems.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control to provide installation support as needed.
  • Submit updates to process documents, including work instructions, forms, and policies.
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base of HVAC technical documentation, including manuals, schematics, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay current with new technologies and HVAC systems.
  • Resolve problems and conflicts while maintaining open communication with BGIS internal and client account teams.
  • Guide technicians and other team members by phone through identifying potential issues and resolving them.
  • Recommend solutions and implement appropriate actions for issues.
  • Ensure customer requirements are captured and met in a timely manner.
  • Provide real-time video support to on-site technicians using platforms such as Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime.
  • Complete other assigned key initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as North American Technician Excellence or R-410A certification.

Veritas Capital to acquire facilities manager BGIS. July 17, 2026 | John McNulty Veritas Capital has agreed to acquire BGIS from CCMP Capital Advisors and Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). BGIS runs and maintains buildings and facilities - offices, data centers, and government, healthcare, and industrial sites - for large public and private organizations, handling the engineering, operations, and technology that keep those properties running, a service known in the industry as technical integrated facilities management (IFM). The company oversees more than 65,000 facilities totaling over 620 million square feet globally with a team of more than 12,000.
