The Opportunity
We are looking for a seasoned Global Mobility & Immigration Specialist to join our team. This position will play a significant role in supporting the Americas Immigration program, global relocation and requires some knowledge of APAC and EMEA countries immigration requirements.
In this role you will partner with and provide excellent customer service to People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, our external vendor partners, and employees to support new hires and internally transferring employees. You will collaborate to provide context and consultation of our policies, and guidance around the complexity of Immigration and Global Mobility practices and issues. You will support updating our documented processes and standard operating procedures and recommending process improvements.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Global Mobility & Immigration at Nutanix. The work setup at Nutanix is hybrid, allowing employees to work remotely for 2-3 days a week. While flexibility is offered, being in the office a couple of days fosters teamwork and in-person collaboration. Travel requirements for this position at Nutanix are minimal, with no extensive travel obligations expected. Your Role
- Partner as part of the global mobility team to facilitate the America Immigration program and global relocation program to provide a good employee experience and service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with the Program Manager to track cases, provide data on case metrics to help inform global strategy, and ensure deadlines are timely met.
- Assist with cases associated with non-immigrant and immigrant visa filings, including H-1B, TN, E-3, L-1, O-1, J-1, PERM, EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 cases, as well as global visas.
- Conduct routine green card tasks such as postings, advertisements, and educating managers and employees on the process.
- Initiate services with outside vendors to assist with immigration, relocation and tax services.
- Monitor changes to employment status, job title, office location and salary and notify appropriate stakeholders.
- Support our vendor relationship to mitigate potential risks before they occur.
- Support the day-to-day operations and activities with the Immigration and relocation vendors to ensure compliance, cost-effectiveness and optimal service levels to our employees.
- Provide consultative support prior to and during domestic moves and cross border transfers, including cost analysis and vendor initiation and coordination.
- Support managing the process with employees, managers, and people business partners for employees who may need to be relocated due to maxing out on their work permits
- Help develop and maintain knowledge based articles to support our “self-service” initiatives.
- Ensure foreign nationals are well-informed by the vendors regarding all stages of their immigrant status including timely documentation, strategy, and case progression.
- Audit vendor invoices for domestic and international programs (e.g. relocation management company, immigration law firm, tax consultants, etc.)
- Monitor immigration mailbox – Handle day-to-day inquiries regarding global mobility policies/programs as well as requests for information from managers, employees, recruiting team and outside immigration counsel.
- Maintain appropriate information in our immigration and global mobility records, including Public Access Files.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years of U.S. Immigration experience (F1, H1B, L1, TN) and the entire Green Card process to include in-depth expertise administering corporate immigration programs in a corporate HR setting. Additional experience in a law firm setting with large corporate clients a plus.
- Knowledge of global Immigration requirements within EMEA and APAC regions.
- A thorough understanding of US domestic relocation/international transfers and mobility tax compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to address complex situations and communicate impact effectively.
- Experience reviewing company policies and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Technical aptitude and experience with Applicant tracking systems, INSZoom, Workday and ServiceNow.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills, with the ability to work cross-collaboratively across multiple internal and external teams
- Strong project management, organizational, time management skills
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 83,840 and USD $ 168,120 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
