The Global Payroll and Employment Tax team is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in this newly expanded role! This individual will be responsible for oversight to the day-to-day payroll responsibilities of the US & Canada Payroll teams, including managing execution of payroll for approximately 13,000 employees. The successful candidate will have experience in stock administration and complex multi-state payroll execution to ensure accurate flow of data to internal and external stakeholders and to ensure that all compensation, deduction, and taxation details are executed timely, accurately, and seamlessly.
The Payroll Manager will have prior experience in leading, developing and mentoring a payroll team in a complex and dynamic environment. To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to be organized, and deadline driven, with experience working with other cross-functional stakeholders such as HR Operations, HR Technology, Compensation & Benefits and Global Mobility.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle, end-to-end processing of US and Canada payrolls on a bi-weekly basis as well as the off-cycle runs to ensure all payroll transactions are delivered timely and accurately for approximately 13,000 employees utilizing ADP Globalview
- Act as the subject matter expert and stay current on payroll systems, regulations, benefits changes, and labor laws impacting the payroll process and stay in compliance on federal, state, and local updates
- Support the team through effective coaching, developing, and training through interactive dialog
- Collaborate with employment and corporate tax teams pertaining to internal and external audit requirements
- Manage ServiceNow employee inquires and assist team with knowledge article creations, SLA completion, and escalations
- Assist with preparation of relevant management quarterly business reviews, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and payroll metrics
- Manage, review and approve incentive compensation payroll including RSUs and Non-Qualified Stock Options, etc to ensure timely payroll tax filings and estimated tax submissions
- Review and approve quarterly filings, adjustments, and reports to internal and external teams
- Support the 401k reconciliation and funding processes
- Ensure policies and procedure manuals are up to date and maintained by payroll personnel
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and lead payroll optimization projects as assigned
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of managing multi-state and multi-provinces US & Canada payroll experience
- 2+ years of experience in managing and motivating direct reports and teams
- Experience with payroll & HR platforms such as ADP GlobalView, SAP, and Workday for HRIS
Preferred Qualifications:
- FPC or CPP certification is a plus
- Team player, flexible, and ability to resolve conflicts – manages “up, down and side-to-side"
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and customer service skills
- Experience in international/expat payrolls and equity compensation
- Ability to work well independently and highly detailed oriented, in a time sensitive results driven environment
- Possess a high degree of professionalism and can communicate with sensitivity
- Driven to accomplish tasks and projects
- Proficient in MS Excel including advanced formula functions
- Strong understanding of payroll and tax withholding compliance obligations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

The pay range for this role is $98,000 - $160,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
