Redaptive provides energy as a service (EaaS) by financing, installing, and maintaining energy-saving and generating equipment for large organizations, mainly in commercial real estate. It covers upfront costs and recovers them through shared energy savings, typically via long-term contracts. The company uses a proprietary Data as a Service (DaaS) platform to meter electricity, gas, and water in real time for ongoing sustainability reporting and optimization. Its goal is to reduce energy waste, lower operating costs, and cut emissions for big building portfolios while delivering predictable savings for both clients and Redaptive.

What believers are saying

  • On August 6, 2026, Redaptive closed a $137.4 million equipment ABS with ATLAS SP.
  • On August 4, 2026, Recurve partnership targets AI data centers' power shortages.
  • The $650 million CDPQ-Nuveen facility still funds Redaptive deployments across North America and Europe.

What critics are saying

  • Redaptive depends on securitization markets; a 2027 ABS freeze blocks growth financing.
  • Its data-center push ties revenue to AI capex cycles and utility interconnection delays.
  • A default in receivables or a rating cut would crush warehouse funding and operations.

What makes Redaptive unique

  • Redaptive combines upfront project financing with turnkey energy retrofits across Fortune 500 portfolios.
  • Its proprietary metering platform verifies savings, enabling pay-from-savings contracts and investor underwriting.
  • By August 2026, Redaptive has securitized both EaaS and equipment-finance receivables.

Redaptive closes $137M equipment finance ABS backed by diversified loan portfolio

Redaptive, a Denver-based energy solutions provider, has closed its first equipment finance asset-backed securitisation totalling approximately $137.4 million. The securitisation is backed by a diversified pool of equipment finance contracts with commercial and industrial customers, including loans and leases for transportation, energy efficiency, marine, material handling, construction, power generation, manufacturing, and IT equipment. ATLAS SP Partners, majority-owned by Apollo-managed funds, served as sole structuring agent and bookrunner. This marks Redaptive's second asset-backed securitisation overall, following a $216 million deal backed by energy-as-a-service contracts in December 2025. Morningstar DBRS assigned provisional ratings to four note classes, with the $105.8 million Class A notes receiving the highest AAA rating.

Redaptive and Recurve partner to unlock data center power amid 17% demand surge

Redaptive and Recurve have launched a joint solution to help data centre operators access power more quickly. The partnership addresses growing electricity demands driven by AI, which saw data centre power consumption surge 17% in 2025, according to the International Energy Agency. The solution optimises energy performance within data centres and creates additional capacity on local grids. Redaptive finances and deploys energy efficiency projects, whilst Recurve's FLEX platform measures and validates the capacity created. Inside data centres, the system focuses on cooling optimisation, battery storage integration, and energy management systems. Across surrounding grids, it deploys energy efficiency retrofits, distributed generation, and demand response assets. The approach offers an alternative to traditional grid upgrades, which often take years to complete. The companies aim to unlock existing infrastructure capacity rather than relying solely on new construction.

US firms to invest $500M in electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Mexico

Two US technology firms, Invisible Urban Charging (IUC) and ATX Smart Mobility, have signed a $500 million investment agreement to build electric vehicle charging infrastructure in central Mexico and the Bajío region. The project addresses Mexico's critical shortage of charging stations, with the country currently having 280 cars per charger compared to an ideal ratio of 40 to one. The initial rollout will include 140 electric buses and 38 dual-port DC fast chargers in Querétaro, Puebla and Mexico City Metropolitan Area. IUC will provide funding and hardware for charger installations, whilst ATX will deploy AI-driven technology to optimise routes and energy use in public transport systems. Financial backing comes from DLL Group, Redaptive and EIG. IUC plans to deploy an additional $3 billion in Mexico over the next 18 to 36 months.
