Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, or another related field is required.
  • Five years of experience in healthcare economics, statistics, data analysis, financial reporting, actuarial work, managed care, and/or long-term care operations is required.
  • Experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid Managed Care is required.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects is required.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, and Visio are required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate multiple projects, oversee day-to-day staffing, and administer all standard operating procedures.
  • Under the guidance of the Director, oversee project management for all operational data store activities.
  • Work closely with Analysts to create new functional specifications for enhancements or to improve existing logic based on changing business needs.
  • Own the change control process and documentation for each approved modification.
  • Oversee test plan development, documentation, and implementation.
  • Oversee creation of training documentation for new or updated designs for day-to-day data usage.
  • Under the guidance of the Director and in collaboration with business owners, manage projects and prioritize new reporting needs for daily on-demand and auto-delivered data.
  • Oversee the peer review process, ensuring quality and accuracy standards are met.
  • Identify ad-hoc reporting that can be converted to standardized reporting for enhanced automation and increased efficiency.
  • Obtain functional requirements from business users for monitoring staff productivity and prepare confidential reports to fulfill this need.
  • Time extracts and reports to oversee the length of time required for each, and merge these findings with overall system performance metrics to provide recommendations to senior leadership.
Desired Qualifications
  • A graduate degree, including an MBA or CPA, in Statistics, Healthcare, Economics, or Business is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and New York State Department of Health regulations is preferred.
  • Experience calculating incurred but not reported (IBNR), benefit-cost ratios (BCR), and other metrics is preferred.
  • Experience formulating Medicaid Managed Care Organization Reporting (MMCOR) and encounter data is preferred.
  • Experience developing rate filings, including Medicare Advantage Part C and Part D and Managed Long Term Care, is preferred.
  • Management experience is preferred.
  • Excellent SQL Server 2008 R2 or better skills with Reporting Services are preferred.
