  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in health science, chemistry, behavioral science, or closely related field application to the program area
  • Two years of experience in epidemiology research and analysis
  • Knowledge of antibiotic stewardship, healthcare-associated infections, and infection prevention principles
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
  • Leading antimicrobial stewardship activities across Nevada
  • Work independently and in coordination with other HAI/AR program members
  • Provide medical providers education to increase monitoring, surveillance, and reporting of antibiotic use
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate required stewardship activities as outlined by the CDC
  • Perform programmatic project management activities related to the HAI/AR Program’s National Healthcare and Safety Network (NHSN) surveillance
  • Foster relationships with acute care hospitals and long-term care infection preventionists
  • Participate in grant development, writing, administration, and monitoring
  • Research, collect and analyze antibiotic use data for regular review
