Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Four or more years of business operations experience with increasing levels of responsibility are required, preferably in a healthcare facility, including at least one year in a lead or senior position.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and management skills are required, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrated management skills are required to supervise facility personnel and ensure the delivery of quality care to patients.
  • The employee must be able to work in a healthcare facility environment with possible exposure to infectious and contagious diseases or materials.
  • The employee must be able to frequently stand for prolonged periods and bend over.
  • The employee must be able to move, with assistance, patients and equipment weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings may be required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the dialysis facility in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse to provide quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Manage the execution of short- and long-term objectives, coordinating activities and taking responsibility for results, costs, methods, and staffing.
  • Administer the daily business operations of the dialysis clinics, including center staff functions, patient care quality, physical plant and equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects of the center to achieve or exceed the budget and key performance indicators.
  • Oversee direct patient care responsibilities in collaboration with the Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse, Medical Director, and physicians.
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Ensure patients and their families receive education regarding access care and medical instructions.
  • Address patient concerns, issues, and questions, including reviewing patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Develop and communicate efficient and timely patient schedules to maximize facility efficiency.
  • Assist with patient workflow and monitor pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure activities as appropriate.
  • Implement and maintain a Continuous Quality Improvement Process Improvement Team involving staff and physicians to address identified issues.
  • Review center operations to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and agency regulations.
  • Develop and maintain Medical Director and physician relationships and facilitate effective communication with physicians.
  • Support and drive quality standards through regulatory compliance and Continuous Quality Improvement processes.
  • Implement facility-specific quality goals and action plans with the Clinical Manager or Charge RN and Medical Director.
  • Oversee and monitor staff training required by company policy and risk-management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Charge RN regarding adverse events and action thresholds.
  • Communicate and implement quality policies and procedures for facility staff.
  • Maintain the integrity of medical records and administrative and operational records.
  • Participate in data collection and auditing activities.
  • Manage the daily activities and workload of facility staff and provide guidance and leadership.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate employee schedules according to facility staffing needs.
  • Provide informal staff feedback and formal annual performance evaluations, and establish annual staff goals.
  • Manage department staffing through hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Document disciplinary meetings and consult with Human Resources and the Director of Operations regarding disciplinary decisions.
  • Ensure new-hire orientation, training, and applicable ICD-9 code training are completed.
  • Ensure current licensure, annual in-service training, and policy and procedure updates are documented.
  • Ensure facility employees receive required training, including company risk-management initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and support professional development.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to provide staff information about company benefits and policies.
  • Participate in employee recognition and satisfaction programs.
  • Communicate company, Division, and Corporate initiatives, policies, and procedures to facility staff.
  • Use knowledge of company services and products to contribute to business growth.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity and safety.
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of facility equipment, operating systems, and physical structure.
  • Monitor facility security.
  • Coordinate inventory and supply management, review monthly inventory counts, and approve purchase orders.
  • Manage the efficient utilization of medications, laboratory resources, inventory, supplies, and equipment to meet supply cost goals.
  • Contribute to developing and revising facility policies and procedures and maintaining related manuals.
  • Direct information gathering to support billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll.
  • Participate in on-site internal and external state and federal surveys.
  • Review new and existing provider contracts for vendor services, including insurance, laboratory, and facility cleaning.
  • Supervise the Clinical Manager, Charge RN, Charge RN II, Social Worker, Registered Dietitian, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Patient Care Technician, Secretary, and Ward Clerk.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility is preferred.
  • Experience with medical database software is preferred.
