Through acquisition of the patient-centric real world data platform Ciitizen, we have bolstered our ability to collect, structure, and apply clinico-genomic datasets to advance drug development in rare disorders and oncology. In this role, you will join a new team of motivated clinicians and scientists within the Patient Network & Data org. Through shared expertise and broad cross-functional support, we aim to shape the organization’s success via strategic planning and by establishing Invitae as a data leader! The successful applicant will oversee the use and dissemination of insights generated from our structured clinical data. You will work collaboratively with other teams including AI Computational Biology, Business Development, Partnerships, and Product.
What you’ll do
- Provide effective leadership and mentorship to a growing team
- Support Business Development by serving as a subject matter expert of Invitae data products:
- Participate in client meetings to demonstrate the validity and broad applications of our data product suite, which includes both clinical and genomic data offerings
- Leverage your knowledge of clinical data and Invitae data products to make recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Translate data insights into effective client-facing materials that describe our data and its use cases
- Support prioritization of feature/capability requests
- Support planning and execution of analyses using structured clinical data generated via the Ciitizen platform:
- Collaborate with clients to develop relevant research questions
- Oversee the development of statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and statements of work (SOWs) that achieve partner goals
- Support execution of analyses
- Provide effective client support to ensure scope of work is consistent with expectations, and all outstanding questions are resolved
- Support our team in establishing Invitae as a data leader for rare disorders and oncology
- Manage research collaborations with external partners in academia, biotech, and pharma
- Perform regular literature reviews to remain up-to-date with relevant research; use your expertise to inform new research collaborations and/or directions
- Contribute to the preparation of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for publication and/or presentation
- Attend relevant conferences to present our work and to collect feedback
What you bring
- Clinical or research postgraduate degree (MS, PhD, MD, DO) or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of relevant clinical/research experience
- Ability to develop hypotheses, develop analytical plans, and draft reports
- Ability to synthesize client input and clinical research outcomes to communicate ideas in oral and written form for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to deliver against timelines and execute in a rapidly evolving environment
Preferred skills
- Clinical or research experience in oncology, neurology, and/or rare disorders
- Prior experience working with electronic medical records and familiarity with clinical data standards (ICD9/10, SNOMED, LOINC, FHIR, etc.)
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Experience building trusted partnerships with business development, product, and/or engineering teams
- Experience in management or mentorship

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. $126,400—$158,000 USD
