Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation), Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or another related major is required.
  • At least 0-2 years of experience in business analytics, traffic or transportation analysis, engineering consultancy, or equivalent academic experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of managing stakeholders and assigned concessions is required.
  • The ability to manage tasks and strict deadlines independently is required.
  • The ability to work with colleagues in a self-managed team structure is required.
  • The ability to multitask, solve problems, and implement innovative processes in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Superior quantitative skills are required.
  • Superior writing and verbal communication skills, particularly technical report-writing skills, are required.
  • Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other personal-computer programs, is required.
  • Basic SQL skills are required.
  • Experience with statistical analysis software, data visualization software, and transportation modeling software is required.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze traffic and socioeconomic data for the concession companies and their areas of influence.
  • Prepare monthly reports and summarize findings from recent traffic, revenue, and economic studies.
  • Deliver reports required by the concession contract to the Texas Department of Transportation and Independent Engineer in a timely manner.
  • Prepare memos examining trends, leading indicators, and travel patterns relevant to the company.
  • Present conclusions, findings, or solutions to the department manager or senior management team.
  • Lead, develop, and use spreadsheet-based models and micro- or macro-simulation models to analyze the traffic and revenue impact of design changes and proposed road-network improvements.
  • Manage third-party traffic consultants when applicable.
  • Develop and update annual budget models using historical data and economic conditions for existing Dallas assets.
  • Present annual budget-model findings to the department manager or senior management team.
  • Calibrate and operate the companies' Toll Setting Module software to establish toll rates in accordance with business rules.
  • Lead or contribute to traffic and revenue research projects.
  • Participate in project meetings, liaise with project team members, and oversee project deliverables.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Engineering consultancy experience is preferred but not required.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification is preferred, and a Professional Engineer license is a plus.
  • Experience with Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
  • Experience with TransCAD, CUBE Voyager, VISSIM, or HCS7 is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Python or ArcGIS is a plus but not required.
