Why do we need you? Well, we are currently seeking a dynamic and seasoned individual to fill the role of Head of Communications at Calendly. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of steering and overseeing transformative initiatives within rapidly expanding SaaS companies, and must demonstrate proficiency in adeptly managing diverse executive personalities and goals. The role involves reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Marketing and demands a high level of creativity, an entrepreneurial mindset coupled with a structured approach, and an innovative spirit capable of adjusting to our business’s evolving demands. The Head of Internal Communications is expected to possess advanced interpersonal skills, a well-honed emotional intelligence, and the adaptability to navigate uncertainty, achieving crucial outcomes with the support and partnership of the Senior Manager for Internal Communications.
A day in the life of a Head of Internal Communications at Calendly
On a typical day, you will be working on:
- Collaborating with the executive team and the Corporate Marketing Head to spearhead the creation of a change management framework and advisory board, and programmatically supporting all executive communications. This includes proactive crisis communication plans and initiatives aligned with overarching organizational growth priorities, ensuring internal communications consistency with business and growth strategies.
- Working closely with the executive team, leadership, and HR to craft the internal communications strategy, business narrative, and editorial calendar. This involves defining business priorities and messaging themes that align with product, business, and customer growth.
- Evaluating, enhancing, or establishing communication channels that effectively reach the target audience and optimize message resonance.
- Driving critical dynamic change management and employee engagement initiatives across the company and within specific departmental priorities.
- Managing and offering recommendations on communication channels and company-wide technologies to Calendly’s Chief of Staff, as well as the marketing and HR teams, with a focus on enhancing communications. This includes managing newsletter strategies and overseeing the overarching strategy and evolution.
- Creating a centralized knowledge / resource hub to support better information sharing, ensuring employee access, announcements, and information remain current and are accessible.
- Managing and overseeing the senior manager of communications and internal communications initiatives that will move the business forward.
What do we need from you?
- 10-12 years experience in crafting internal communications programs in a remote setting and an ever-changing environment where you have to pivot and deliver fast results.
- A track record of broad and progressive HR and/or marketing leadership experience in a Tech/SaaS company.
- A keen understanding of your company’s business strategy, providing dynamic solutions using experience, data analyses, and organizational agility to guide your decision making.
- A self-starter mentality with a roll up your sleeves and get things done mindset and a drive to make a direct, tangible impact on a rapidly growing team and company.
- Knows how to realistically make decisions and negotiate with executives to make sure all programs and initiatives are focused on the best priorities for the business and not just the internal communications program.
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
- At least 7-10 years of people management experience and the ability to motivate, empower, and communicate effectively.

$158,950—$215,050 USD
Base Pay Range California - Salary
$189,550—$256,450 USD
