- At least 3 years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
- A strong understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies is required.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation is required.
- Experience using multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools is required.
- The ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system failures is required.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills are required to explain technical findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required, along with the ability to meet company vehicle requirements.
- The ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including drug screening and background checks where applicable, is required.
- The ability to lift, carry, push, or move equipment and materials weighing up to 100 pounds is required.
- The ability to work safely around energized electrical equipment and in mission-critical customer environments is required.
- The ability to obtain and maintain security clearance access to customer facilities is required.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service territory, including overnight and multi-day travel, is required.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to customer emergencies is required.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, static transfer switch units, inverters, and related critical power equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics, test equipment, manufacturer documentation, and industry best practices.
- Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and associated power infrastructure.
- Respond to emergency service calls and restore customer systems to operational status while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Perform battery testing, capacity testing, failure analysis, and lifecycle replacement services.
- Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and customer communications accurately and professionally.
- Develop strong customer relationships through technical expertise, responsiveness, and service delivery.
- Mentor junior technicians and support field training by sharing troubleshooting techniques, safety practices, and technical knowledge.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety procedures, and customer site requirements.
- Support additional field service activities as business and customer needs evolve.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, and work in confined or restricted-access areas.
- Manage multiple priorities in fast-paced field environments while maintaining safety and quality.
- Receive and respond to customer emergencies through an on-call rotation.
- Experience supporting equipment from Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or comparable critical power platforms is strongly preferred.
- Military veterans with backgrounds in electronics, avionics, communications, radar, power generation, electrical maintenance, nuclear power, or related technical specialties are highly encouraged to apply.
