  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to pass a background check to include a credit history report and meet corporate minimum requirements
  • Three to Five years’ experience in Security and (2) years in supervisory capacity
  • High school diploma
  • Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Computer Skills to include MS Office, Electronic time keeping System, preferably Etime experience
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle, telecommunication system, radio device and surveillance equipment
  • Ability to learn and enforce Policies and Procedures of SMG/SCC Security Department
  • Knowledge of Criminal law as it relates to the parameters of security enforcement
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Three to Five years’ experience in Security and (2) years in supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications and problem solving
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgment and initiative
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
  • Stay calm in emergency situations in order to make critical, immediate decisions
  • Non-slip shoes required
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium Security Manager in such a manner as to ensure the highest possible level of security and comfort to all tenants, patrons, and employees
  • Promote customer service, positive public relation approach to the execution of his/ her duties and within the Security Staff
  • Must be able to function in a team environment
  • Assist with planning the service and operational work requirements of the Security Department. Obtaining optimum and most economical use of manpower and equipment
  • Obtains adequate fact and data, such as scheduled events and number of participants, to determine service needs
  • Enforce all building policies and procedures to assure safety and security for all
  • Respond to and investigate all accidents/incidents on property(s)
  • Reviews the work performance to all subordinate personnel
  • Recommends disciplinary actions
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures and training programs for Command Officers and Event Security
  • Participates in event planning and coordinates with local Law Enforcement and First Responders
  • Intervenes in disturbances/incidents in order to maintain peace or to restore order
  • Assist with difficult, high priority, sensitive or emergency operational task, as dictated by the Senior Security and Parking Manager
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating security operations to ensure resources are productively utilized and adequate work quality standard are maintained
  • Assist all other departments as needed
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Responsible for maintaining all aspects of Security Command Office
  • Responsible for direct supervision all Command Officers and Event Security
  • Responsible for payroll, and scheduling security for both events and daily operations
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Maintain and enforce SMG appearance standards
  • Must be able to work irregular hours such as evening, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Assist training employees; assigning and directing work; Supervise, motivate, and develop security guards; Responsible for direct supervision all Command Officers and Event Security
  • Working Conditions: Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays and can work flexible schedules; NON-SLIP SHOES REQUIRED; Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma; Windows and Microsoft Office; Three to Five years’ experience in Security and (2) years in supervisory capacity
  • Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Criminal law as it relates to the parameters of security enforcement; Ability to learn and enforce Policies and Procedures of SMG/SCC Security Department; Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications and problem solving; Work independently, exercising sound judgment and initiative; Ability to work effectively in a team environment, remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur; Manage delicate situations, sometimes in public, in a professional and diplomatic manner; Stay calm in emergency situations in order to make critical, immediate decisions; Must be able to operate a motor vehicle, telecommunication system, radio device and surveillance equipment
  • Physical Demands: Position requires walking and standing for extended periods of time, may be subject to adverse conditions; able to work long hours as well as holiday and weekends as irregular hours may be required; may be exposed to physical confrontations, ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and may be exposed to moderate to extreme noise during events
