Requirements
  • Bachelors Engineering (Electrical, Physics, or similar)
  • Masters Engineering
  • PhD Engineering (research on electronically steerable antenna design)
  • Minimum of 5 years of satellite antenna, terminal and/or satellite system design
  • Experience in the simulation, design and testing of electronically steerable antennas for satellite communication
  • Knowledge of antenna technologies at Ka band for mobile land, aeronautical, maritime and fixed applications
  • Experience with selection of RFIC and beam forming technologies for array antennas
  • Fluent in English, written and oral
Responsibilities
  • Develop technical requirements for Telesat LEO Constellation user terminal antenna technology
  • Support the definition and evaluation of UT antenna requirements
  • Help define the process for UT type approvals
  • Interface with potential manufacturers of UTs
  • Evaluate vendor proposed terminal designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Propose modifications and/or new UT designs to achieve required cost, performance, and reliability targets
  • Identify tests to validate system assumptions with UT prototypes using specialized test equipment
  • Stay current with the latest satellite and 5G antenna design technologies and trends
  • Perform other duties as required
