Requirements
  • Hold an MD degree or equivalent
  • Hold or be eligible for licensure to practice medicine from the Collège des médecins du Québec
  • Have completed postgraduate clinical training in Pediatrics
  • Must have completed specialty training in Pediatric Rheumatology with certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent)
  • Have at least 5 years of experience working as a Pediatric Rheumatologist
  • Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec.
Responsibilities
  • Share equally on call duties with other full-time members
  • Cover the consultation service ~13 weeks per year (including night and weekend call)
  • Hold 2-3 half-day outpatient clinics per week
  • Participate in all clinical and administrative division meetings
  • Lead the Division in its clinical and academic missions
  • Foster the professional development of division members
  • Ensure smooth operations of the division
  • Ensure delivery of the academic mission, including promoting research and providing a safe learning environment
  • Ensure that regular educational activities take place in the division
  • Recruit physicians to the division
  • Manage divisional finances and work with administrative and nursing managers to ensure appropriate staffing in rheumatology
  • Represent the division of rheumatology at the level of the Department of Pediatrics
  • Supervise medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Participate in departmental and divisional academic activities such as research, teaching, quality improvement, and program development
