This role will lead Medtronic’s Free Cash Flow FP&A function and provide business partnership and strategic financial support to the VP of FP&A.
The free cash flow analysis performed at the total company level will be used to identify enterprise-wide performance improvement opportunities and to provide forward-looking guidance to senior leaders and investors. This will require working collaboratively within the broader Global FP&A team as well as Tax, Treasury, External Reporting and finance teams in the operating units and regions. This position will be involved with all areas of free cash flow, including free cash flow from continuing operations, working capital performance, capital expenditures, and the impact of special charges.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Maintain complex financial reporting and forecasting models to manage free cash flow performance at the total company level, including processes and methods to forecast free cash flow on a quarterly, annual, and long-term basis.
Support developing annual free cash flow targets for the company and operating unit level for use in the annual incentive plan.
Partner with the Tax, Treasury, Operating Unit/Region FP&A and Controllership teams to forecast the total company balance sheet on a quarterly, annual, and long-term basis.
Support the preparation of reporting packages for the Board of Directors, Executive Committee.
Interpret and analyze actual financial performance versus plan or forecast.
Effectively communicate expectations and results for the business. Prepare and present materials for senior leadership executive briefings and other key stakeholders.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to ensure we are providing a best-in-class service to our business partners.
Lead the team through all aspect of professional development.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of relevant work experience in Finance and/or Accounting OR 8+ years with an advanced degree
Nice to Have
MBA/CPA/CMA
Experience in a global organization with the ability to operate within a complex organization
Experience interfacing and influencing various levels of management
Thorough understanding of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principals
Strong financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and problem-solving skills; experience modeling the P&L, working capital, and free cash flow
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to analyze processes and suggest/implement continuous improvements
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Understanding of key financial systems tools such as: Hyperion/SmartView
Flexible, friendly, team-oriented disposition that thrives in a fast-paced environment
Strong results orientation and bias for action, including a high degree of initiative and self-motivation in understanding business needs and leading others to meet those needs
Minimal travel expectations in this role (< 25% required)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$127,200.00 - $190,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
