Requirements
  • Six to twelve months of customer service experience in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment, or six to twelve months of healthcare housekeeping, hotel, or hospitality experience.
  • Ability to read and write basic English.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of a team.
  • Fire Life Safety Training from the City of Los Angeles; if not held upon hire, it must be obtained within 30 days of hire and renewed before expiration.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and safe hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors through systematic application of cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain established orderliness, cleaning, and safety standards set by the department.
  • Comply with proper patient room cleaning policies.
  • Dispose of trash, empty containers, packing boxes, biohazard and medical waste, HIPAA information, pharmaceutical waste, batteries, and other hospital-generated waste properly.
  • Practice infection control standards and requirements.
  • Scrub, refinish, burnish, and clean carpets and chairs in public, ancillary, patient, surgical, and office areas.
  • Dust, mop, and clean public, ancillary, patient, surgical, and office areas.
  • Complete high and low dusting on vertical and horizontal surfaces according to departmental procedures.
  • Observe and report items and equipment needing repair to the appropriate person.
  • Clean and disinfect fixtures in public, ancillary, patient, surgical, and office areas.
  • Clean, disinfect, and replenish restroom supplies in public and patient areas according to department policy.
  • Remove and replace sharps, pharmaceutical, and biohazardous containers according to hospital policy.
  • Document performed tasks.
  • Attend required orientation and training seminars.
  • Demonstrate behavior supporting the USC University Hospital mission.
  • Demonstrate respectful and positive interpersonal behavior with patients, clients, the public, managers, and coworkers.
