Requirements
  • A high school diploma, General Educational Development certificate, or graduation from a technical school is preferred.
  • Must be a certified welder or able to obtain welding certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of the welder apprentice level or three years of welding experience is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend regulations and instructions written in the locally applicable language or languages.
  • Ability to perform duties at elevated heights.
  • Demonstrated ability to repair equipment according to skill level.
  • Basic computer and tablet knowledge, including Microsoft and Apple operating systems.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, and other figures using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and to understand weight, volume, and distance measurements.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and moving up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair loading docks and doors.
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance on customer equipment and recommend service as needed.
  • Identify the general problem based on customer concerns and test equipment to locate failures.
  • Complete repairs safely and efficiently, then test equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Drive to customer sites and parts pickup locations to address on-site customer needs.
  • Make necessary repairs with customer approval and perform basic maintenance as needed.
  • Process job-completion documentation, account for all parts, document time accurately, and itemize each repair.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing work.
  • Identify and order necessary replacement parts.
  • Maintain the company-owned service van and its parts inventory.
