Requirements
- An Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter qualification or equivalent, with proven experience in industrial settings.
- Hands-on epoxy grout experience including surface preparation, construction of complex formwork, mixing to correct ratios, placement, and detailed quality-control documentation.
- Proficiency in industrial system formwork such as Doka or Peri, as well as site-specific formwork for foundations and equipment baseplates.
- Competence in rigging, material handling, and safe use of precision measuring tools including levels, lasers, squares, and measuring tapes.
- Current safety certifications in Confined Space, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, AWP, and GD2.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform epoxy grouting of equipment baseplates and foundations, including surface preparation, constructing complex formwork, mixing to correct ratios, placing grout, and achieving precise finishes.
- Construct and install site-specific formwork for foundations, bases, and structural supports according to blueprints and tight tolerances.
- Complete grout documentation by tracking batch and lot numbers, ambient temperatures, volumes, and pouring logs for the quality-control turnover package.
- Set and level forms and embeds for rotating and fixed equipment installations to ensure alignment with structural requirements.
- Assist with rigging, material handling, and site-preparation tasks safely and according to the project plan.
- Use precision measurement tools such as levels, lasers, squares, and measuring tapes to ensure formwork integrity and grout-placement accuracy.
- Participate in job safety analyses, field-level hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and OCL and site health, safety, and environment requirements while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Report daily time and material information through LEM inputs and submit quality records to the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in concrete placement and finishing.
- Experience in turnaround or shutdown, oil and gas, or heavy industrial or mining environments.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and blueprints.
