Requirements
  • BS +4 years / MS +2 year in Electronics, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent field of study
  • Hands-on professional experience with a robotic vehicle
  • Experience building hardware using Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Pixhawk or micro-controllers
  • Experience with sensors (IMUs, magnetometers, GPS/GNSS receivers, Earth sensors, Sun sensors, star trackers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C and CAN communication protocols
  • Proficient in Matlab, Python, C/C++
  • Familiarity with CAD and 3d printing
  • Highly proactive team player with excellent technical communication and presentation skills
  • Experience building space/aerial/ground robots
  • Experience with spacecraft GNC hardware/software, including throughout the design and testing processes
  • Experience implementing Kalman filters and sensor fault detection
  • Familiarity with PCB Schematics for aerospace or robotics applications
  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain testbeds for characterizing performance of various sensors and fusion algorithms
  • Interface with flight software and avionics teams to build test jigs for qualifying GNC components on the flight computer board, including working with sensor/actuator drivers, firmware, and communication protocols
  • Development of sensor models and fusion algorithms and testing them on the hardware
  • Design and implementation of software tools for ground and in-orbit calibration
  • Processing, visualization, and evaluation of orbit data to assess sensor and actuator behavior and performance
  • Cross-functional interaction with other subsystem engineers, providing expertise as needed
  • Participation, presentation, and documentation for engineering reviews
