Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • Expertise in one or more general development languages (e.g., Java, C#, C++)
  • Strong UNIX/Linux administration and OS hardening skills
  • Proficiency in Python programming and UNIX-based scripting (Shell, Perl)
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools and APIs
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, with ability to analyze network traces
  • Proven track record in capacity planning, load testing, and performance tuning
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
  • Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in both individual contributor and technical leadership roles
Responsibilities
  • Provide Level 3 production support for the EA suite of applications, ensuring adherence to SLAs
  • Work in a 24x7 rotation to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in collaboration with cross-regional teams
  • Partner with Development, QA, Product, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure teams to maintain service excellence
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for at least one business-critical EA application
  • Develop Python-based tools and scripts for monitoring, automation, and operational efficiency
  • Leverage Generative AI frameworks for automated troubleshooting and root cause analysis, intelligent log analysis and anomaly detection, proactive system optimization and monitoring
  • Advocate for and design next-generation AI-powered operational support solutions
  • Develop install plans, define release schedules, and execute production changes end-to-end
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployments
  • Ensure security vulnerabilities are remediated within required timelines
  • Develop, update, and maintain production monitoring solutions
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to ensure compliance and threat mitigation
  • Continuously improve operational procedures for efficiency and reliability
  • Coach and mentor peers in technical skills and best practices
  • Train external teams on new products and enhancements
  • Maintain documentation for all products, enhancements, and patches
  • Design and code systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability
  • Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
  • Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads
  • Demonstrates relevant technical working knowledge to understand requirements
  • Identifies and contributes to the development and solution strategies to team members that improve the design and functionality of interface features across one or more project features, under minimal guidance
  • Applies standard processes on the use of programming languages (e.g. HTML, C++, Java) to write code that fulfills website modification requests and technical requirements
  • Collaborates with others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features that enhance the user website experience across e-commerce products
  • Analyzes bugs for simple issues and applies debugging tools to verify assumptions
Desired Qualifications
  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Education: BS in a technical discipline preferable Computer Science required
  • 5+ years in mission-critical Level 3 production support (financial systems experience preferred)
