- Three years of experience in healthcare support services, environmental services, hospitality, or a related field.
- A Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician certification is preferred.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Transport regular waste, biohazardous waste, and recycling waste to designated collection locations and prepare it for transport in accordance with Department of Transportation and Department of Health standards.
- Maintain clean and safe conditions around the linen room, dumpster and bio-trailer areas, and other designated areas.
- Empty and clean trash containers so they are free from spills and marks.
- Operate outside cleaning equipment, including a pressure washer, leaf blower, Billy Goat, and cart washing machine.
- Maintain patient and non-patient areas in compliance with mandated and regulatory agency requirements.
- Use appropriate safety systems to protect patients, customers, and team members.
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms and ancillary areas, including bathrooms, public areas, corridors, and medication storage rooms, using designated chemicals and cleaning procedures.
- Maintain equipment in a clean and functional condition and keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe.
- Complete assigned tasks independently.
- Respond to unit and department linen requests.
- Deliver clean linen to user areas according to established and changing par levels.
- Use a handheld computer or manual system to credit and debit clean linen to user areas.
- Record telephone linen requests in the Telephone Log.
- Pick up soiled linen from user areas and deliver it to the holding area for laundry pickup.
- Weigh and record clean, rejected, and soiled linen.
- Record laundry truck lock tag numbers in the Weight Log for clean and soiled linen.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and standards.
- Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- A Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician certification is preferred.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
