Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers within the territory, coordinating compliantly with Pfizer colleagues.
  • Maintain required knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, disease states, and Pfizer medicines and provide therapeutic-area and product information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a conduit and resource for Medical Information and customer insights, provide requested information to health care professionals as permitted by Pfizer guidance, and share customer viewpoints with Pfizer.
  • Contribute to Medical content strategy development and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration among headquarters Medical colleagues, Medical Information, and Field Medical colleagues.
  • Communicate through live and virtual presentations, written communication, and telephone or virtual conversations.
  • Optimize patient centricity in medical communications and deliverables by incorporating health literacy and cultural awareness principles.
  • Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the designated therapeutic area.
  • Identify and seek medical engagement from priority customer segments in the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Provide truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests from health care professionals in compliance with Pfizer guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead advisory boards, working with vendors when necessary and with manager oversight.
  • Field inbound health care professional queries through the established triage process.
  • Partner with Oncology Research and Development and Global Product Development to identify potential sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, including sites serving under-represented patient populations.
  • Provide medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process.
  • Cultivate research and therapeutic-area expertise through familiarity with current congress data and disease-state literature.
  • Provide asset leadership.
  • Understand study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation and communicate these concepts to customers.
  • Lead the territory through strategic planning, disciplined prioritization, and accountability for medical impact.
  • Communicate reactively and proactively with local Patient Advocacy Groups in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and headquarters Medical Affairs.
  • Deliver actionable field insights on local patient organization structures, capabilities, patient population needs, real-world treatment patterns, evolving standards of care, and unmet data needs.
  • Serve on Medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees as appropriate.
  • Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership with clinical and professional associations and societies.
  • Mentor through onboarding partnerships, advisory board leadership, and study-lead mentorship.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Travel 60–80% of the time and attend health care professional meetings, headquarters meetings, scientific congresses, and regional meetings.
  • Work weekends as needed for advisory boards, regional meetings, and congresses.
Desired Qualifications
  • A PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree, such as a Doctor of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Medicus Pharma secures Pfizer ADC deal with $2M funding, advances SkinJect for rare cancer treatment

Medicus Pharma has secured a development and licensing agreement with Pfizer for a CD228-targeted antibody-drug conjugate programme focused on solid tumours, including refractory melanoma. Pfizer is providing approximately $2 million in development funding, plus inventory and infrastructure support. CEO Dr Raza Bokhari said the deal allows Medicus to continue from where Pfizer concluded its Phase 1 dose-escalation work, strengthening the company's position in precision oncology. Medicus is also advancing its SkinJect programme for basal cell carcinoma. Final clinical trial results identified the 200-microgram patch as the optimal dose for future studies. The company is preparing for the FDA-approved pivotal SkinJect 005 study whilst recruiting patients. An independent reimbursement analysis suggests SkinJect could achieve reimbursement levels of $25,000 or more per patient.

AbbVie beats Pfizer as top dividend stock with 53-year payout streak and 203% growth

AbbVie offers a smarter long-term dividend investment than Pfizer, despite Pfizer's higher 6.1% yield. AbbVie holds Dividend King status with 53 consecutive years of dividend increases and raised its payout by 5.5% this year to $1.73 per share. Over the past decade, AbbVie increased its dividend by more than 203% compared to Pfizer's 51%. AbbVie's revenue grew 138% during this period, whilst Pfizer's rose just 18%. AbbVie successfully navigated Humira's patent cliff through home-grown immunology drugs Skyrizi and Rinvoq. By 2025, these two drugs generated combined annual sales exceeding $25 billion, replacing Humira's peak revenue and pushing total company revenue to record highs. AbbVie's free-cash-flow dividend payout ratio stands at 65%, lower than Pfizer's 89%.

Pfizer received FDA approval for its updated Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, with deliveries to pharmacies and clinics beginning immediately. The company's shares were trading at $27.9079 on 28 August. However, the market opportunity has significantly narrowed from pandemic levels. Eligibility is now limited to adults aged 65 and older, plus higher-risk patients aged 5 through 64. Despite Comirnaty having distributed over five billion doses worldwide historically, today's revenue potential is considerably more constrained. Pfizer faces competition from Moderna and the Novavax-Sanofi protein vaccine for this smaller patient pool. The company's current share price sits 5.27% above its estimated value of $26.51, suggesting investors are paying a premium before actual uptake and commercial results become clear.

FDA approves Pfizer-BioNTech XFG-adapted COVID-19 vaccine for high-risk groups

Pfizer and BioNTech have received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for their 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine targeting the XFG variant. The vaccine is approved for adults aged 65 and older, and individuals aged 5 to 64 with underlying conditions that increase risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes. The FDA approval is based on clinical, non-clinical and real-world data demonstrating the vaccine generates strong immune responses against currently circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants, including XFG and other contemporary lineages. The XFG variant was selected following FDA guidance for fall 2026 vaccine composition. The vaccine will begin shipping immediately and will be available in US pharmacies, hospitals and clinics within days. To date, more than five billion doses of COMIRNATY have been distributed globally.
