- Facilitate communication by providing accurate, impartial, and complete interpretation from the spoken language to the target language.
- Collaborate with English for Speakers of Other Languages teachers by interpreting rubrics and instructions for classroom activities, assignments, and projects.
- Assist in assessing students' educational strengths and challenges.
- Provide ongoing communication about students' academic performance, attendance, and behavior.
- Participate in individual and group discussions with school counselors, limited-English-proficient students, and parents or guardians to help develop post-secondary educational, vocational, and career plans.
- Provide culturally informed outreach activities and notices about school meetings, District-wide events, and opportunities.
- Inform multilingual students and limited-English-proficient parents or guardians about school expectations, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Distribute District-wide translated documents and ensure documents sent to parents or guardians are translated.
- Provide interpretation during psychological evaluations, Individualized Education Program meetings, parent or guardian and teacher conferences, and PSSA and Keystone tests.
- Meet with limited-English-proficient students and parents or guardians to support participation in the school counseling program.
- Consult with school counselors and other school staff to determine students' abilities and potential and implement steps to support their interests and goals.
