Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience designing site layouts for complex energy systems, preferably fuel cells or similar technologies such as power plants or renewable energy systems.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and understanding customer requirements for energy systems.
  • Ability to apply first-principles logic and methods.
  • Strong understanding of construction standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD or Revit for creating site layouts and construction drawings.
  • Experience with structural and mechanical integration on site power generation; electrical knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modular construction methods, prefabrication, and cost-effective construction practices.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, backup power, and energy storage solutions as they relate to fuel cell systems.
  • Ability to interact with customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Experience managing customer expectations, providing technical support, and delivering complex energy solutions while identifying opportunities to add customer value.
  • Ability to identify site design and construction challenges and propose solutions meeting cost and technical requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills to optimize layouts for efficiency and scalability.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and ensure timely delivery of designs.
  • Ability to commute using personal transportation.
  • Ability to work in office and field environments, perform physical site inspections, walk extensively, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and design site layouts for fuel cell system installations for new customers, including equipment placement, power distribution, and auxiliary systems.
  • Optimize layouts for space, safety, operational efficiency, scalability, customer needs, and construction efficiency.
  • Collaborate directly with new customers to understand energy requirements and site constraints and provide technical support throughout design.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce installation costs without compromising quality or safety.
  • Work with engineering, procurement, and construction firms and internal product designers to introduce modular or prefabricated solutions and reduce on-site labor costs.
  • Manage requirements between engineering, procurement, and construction firms and product design.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering, procurement, and construction teams and identify ways to reduce construction costs and timelines.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, building codes, local zoning requirements, and permitting requirements.
  • Integrate fuel cell systems with existing infrastructure, including electrical distribution and backup power systems.
  • Plan equipment adjacency, intakes and exhaust, noise setbacks, crane access, and expansion zones to protect uptime and maintainability.
  • Engineer water, deionized water, cooling water or dry-cooler interfaces, drains, blowdown and neutralization, gas or hydrogen supply, vent and relief stacks, purges, and condensate management.
  • Ensure backflow prevention, metering, and safe discharge locations.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess space, environmental conditions, and infrastructure.
  • Recommend site preparation activities, including land grading, utility connections, and foundation requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for site layouts, permitting, and construction plans.
  • Provide customers with detailed documentation and reports.
  • Travel to customer sites for site surveys, project coordination, and construction oversight.
  • Support construction activities in office, field, and shop-floor environments.

  • Experience with data center design.
  • Hands-on experience installing and commissioning fuel cell systems or other power generation systems.
  • Knowledge of advanced construction techniques, including modular construction or prefabrication methods for energy system installations.
  • Experience with energy storage solutions or hybrid energy systems.
  • Electrical knowledge related to site power generation.

Hillhouse invests in Quest Global to accelerate engineering growth

Quest Global, a global outsourced engineering services provider, has secured a minority investment from Hillhouse Investment through a combination of primary capital infusion and share purchases from existing stakeholders. The transaction involves funds managed by Hillhouse Investment Management. The Singapore-based company, which employs over 21,500 people across 93 global delivery centres in 18 countries, will use the capital to advance strategic priorities and enhance its engineering capabilities for major original equipment manufacturers worldwide. Quest Global specialises in aerospace, automotive, energy and semiconductor sectors. CEO Ajit Prabhu said the investment validates the company's differentiated value proposition and growth strategy. AROBS acquires Quest Global Romania in all-stock deal with one-year lock-up

Romanian tech group AROBS is acquiring Quest Global Romania from Craiova in an all-stock transaction, marking the company's first acquisition paid entirely through share issuance. The newly issued shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period. Quest Global Romania, headquartered in Craiova, employs approximately 110 specialists and provides software development, testing, embedded solutions and IT consulting services across sectors including semiconductors, healthcare and automotive. The company is part of Singapore-based Quest Global, which operates in 18 countries with over 22,000 employees. The acquisition strengthens AROBS's engineering capabilities and international presence. Quest Global Romania's management will continue under Ana-Maria Vasilescu's leadership. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of the year.
